Bottom Shelf Books Redesigned: Goodnight Moon

While prepping for the Unnecessary Picture Book Sequels Contest (the results of which we will begin revealing any day now), I remembered a feature that I'd been wanting to do for a while: Redesigning classic picture book titles as grown-up novels. I think it's because I've spent too much time stalking Book Design Review and other such sites that appeal to an amateur dork like me.

So here is the first installment... Goodnight Moon redesigned as a noir-ish novel:

What a fun idea! I like the quote you've added, gives it a nice punch.

I like this! I'm reminded of the film trailers that were respliced so that the Shining became a comedy and Mary Poppins was a horror flick. Here are some other titles I'm throwing your way, in case they spark your imagination:

There's a Nightmare in My Closet
(Either Stephen King fare or something along the lines of Mrs. Doubtfire)

Guess How Much I Love You (sequel to Nightmare in My Closet, definitely a horror novel)

Once Upon a Potty (memoir)

This works TOO WELL. I'm scared.

Thanks for the suggestions, Farida!

And Tanita... be afraid, be very afraid. (Not sure what that means, but I had to say it.)
